I've used Honda Bond and Honda Bond 4 in the same manner (found at Honda
dealerships) - no leaks on multiple engines, transaxles, transmissions.
Easy to remove on rebuilds.

I use Yamabond 4 on all the four and V6 transaxle car. This is a motor
cycle case sealant. No leaks after 5 years of use on dozens of
transmissions.
