[alfa] GTV6 fuel pump

Yes, Joe is correct. The fuel pump is between the gas tank and the fuel filter. The design of a high pressure fuel pump requires that it must always have a supply of gasoline at its intake otherwise it could burn out within a few minutes. If the filter gets clogged and is placed before the pump it will most likely burn the pump. This orientation is common practice in all the FI cars I have seen. It also comes as a surprise to owners who run out of gas and then find that the fuel pump has to be replaced.

Nash

No, that's the way it came from the factory. Not sure why though.
Some people do change the orientation to eliminate the u-turns,
especially because the factory molded u-turn hose that runs
tank-to-pump is NLA.
