[alfa] re: time for water pump replacement
I've done this twice on my '87 spider -- the first time took a day
(including long lunches). the second took the larger part of a month. it
involved putting on and taking off at least a dozen times because the bottom
of the pump that covers that ridiculous oil hole kept leaking. turns out the
plug in the pump itself was a manufacturing defect, but 17 quarts of oil in
a month meant lots of off-and-on of the pump. the job can be done fairly
easily, but make sure to examine the new parts.
also, i'm not sure about your year, but on mine they're a LOT of tiny nuts
on the studs holding it on -- as usual some are dang near untouchable.
best of luck.
