[alfa] A/C fittings in a '93 Spider Veloce
The one that's hard to get at is the suction side. It's really not that hard
to get to if you attach the hose while the motors cold, just bend the by-pass
hose out of the way and attach the hose. If I remember correctly it takes
about 20 psig in the system before the clutch will kick in, due to the low
pressure cut off switch.
If you have to remove the compressor to have it rebuilt, take the top two
bolts out and them remove the 3 or 4 bolts that hold the mounting bracket to
the motor and remove the whole unit. You can remove the compressor from the
mount after you get it out. The job is easier if you pull the radiator and
remove the distributor cap.
