[alfa] VVT solenoid spacing

1986 Spider Graduate:

My manual specifies a particular spacer tool to space the VVT pin from the VVT solenoid plunger on setup. However, _I_ don't know how thick the spacer is and don't have one to loot at. Can anyone tell me what the spacing should be? The pin does the "slows the motor down" thing when pressed at idle, and the solenoid does indeed actuate at full throttle (at least). The car's power feels a bit low compared to a 1979 Spica car. I doubt it's all due the the '79 being lighter. The 1986 has a low compression on cylinder 3, and though I haven't done a leakdown test yet, I suspect the exhaust valve. How should I answer whether the #3 cylinder is the cause of the poor power? The VVT question is to help me configure VVT so it does _not_ rob power.
