I just spent the afternoon reassembling a completely stripped-down
Spider seat, and while doing so thought about the tweeter question. I
wondered if one could avoid having exposed wires by using the metal
headrest posts as conductors - of course, this would mean just one
speaker in each headrest. (FWIW, I think tweeters here would be silly,
but Polk makes a nice 3.5" 2-way midrange speaker that might be OK in
the location.)
Incidentally, I'm pretty sure I still have the (nonworking) Alfa/Clarion
radio that came with this car, stashed away somewhere. If anyone has a
use for this, I could probably dig it out and ship it on. I don't
promise I'll take the time to clean the innards of any vermin that might
have taken up residence over the years.
