The first thing I would check is the rear u-joint, for binding or play in the
rollers (as Jeff recommended you do).  If the joint is extremely floppy and
loose, or stiff in one axis or another, replace it.  But- if you do drop the
driveshaft yourself, be sure to mark the flanges before you separate the
halves- reinstall exactly as it was originally to retain balance.  If you are
not a fairly experienced shade-tree tech, take the unit to a shop for
changeout of the u-joint.  Lastly- use an Alfa original part.
