[alfa] Backup lights - Spider

It was scrivened:

circuitry to the rear of the car work then how can they not work
together???

OK, so the switch works and the power connector to the switch works but
when you plug then all together, she no work? Sounds like the switch/
power connector junction is not conducting. Usually when you probe the
switch or the connector with a DVM/VOM, you use the round probes, which
are not the same thickness, diameter or physical layout of the actual
connection. Something could be loose in the switch side and works when
you press the probe against it but not when the connector slides over
it., or the male connector on the switch might not be making connection
with the female connector in the power socket, due to corrosion or
looseness in the female side.

If you have access to a crimping tool, make up short jumpers with the
proper terminals on each end and use them to connect the switch to the
power. If it works, then you can wiggle the connections to check both
the switch and the connector socket to see where the problem might be.
