Hot oil smell

Hello
When I go to my car in the morning I can smell auto fluid  in the cabin.
The last big hole I plugged was the hole which the speedo drive cable comes 
through. there was no grommet, and looks a horrible shaped hole to fit a 
grommet to, so I plugged around the cable with dum dum.
I still get the auto fluid fume smell so where do I plug the cabin now?
