Re: Unleaded Petrol (a.k.a. where has your stag been?)

To add my $0.02 and IMHO

Bear in mind that references to Technical Bulletins,
Owners/parts/workshop manuals are only valid should you have a 1 owner
stag or a stag with a fully documented and receipted service history.

Any previous owner could have had service work done on it that replace
one or more valves or seats that were of an inferior quality i.e. too
soft.

I would suggest that if you are going to have some engine work done ,
get the valves etc checked/replaced for piece of mind but also bear in
mind costs for head work for corrosion (been there done that!, wallet
much lighter)
I'm sure there are many stags out there that can run unleaded fine, but
I am also sure there a number that will not.

I was also an owner of a MK4 Spitfire that had a second hand piston in
it and the rings broke on that piston. Car looked fine, ran fine for a
while.

cheers
