Re: Curious Metal Loop Contest

Hi Glenn and all

Having just spoken to an ex-employee of Triumph I now have the "true" answer
for these loops.

I know there is no proof of this and so am entering my answer but will not
be entering to win.

Here goes.

The ex-employee is one Nigel Cross.

He reports that these loops were used to tie down the completed bodies onto
"skids", as well as the other mounting points, so that they wouldn't move
during transit, this originated from the bodies being built in Speke and
then transferred to Cowley for completion into a full working car. And were
also kept in place when the bodies where built at Cowley purely for
transport and movement safety reasons.

Hope this helps to satisfy everyone's curiosity.
