Spot On Peter,
	Original oil change specification for the Stag, and other cars for that matter,
was 6000 miles.  So, lots of people went to 10k miles between oil changes, far
too long.  Now, most all specialists recommend 3000 miles or every three months,
changing the oil when it shows signs of breakdown through discoloration and
suspended particles. Standard Operating Procedure these days to take the car to
change the oil on this type of schedule.

At the risk of sounding repetative, the Stag V8 is a reliable engine if the
routine maintenance is carried out by todays known maintenance schedules. 
Cooling maintenance is already very well detailed in the Owners Handbook, it
just needs to be followed.
