bliping the throttle



Hi,
just a follow-up of a recent comment about the practice of giving a quick
rev as you turn the car off. A recent British car magazine suggested, in
the response to reader's question, that it was *bad* practice because if
the throttle is open when the ignition is turned off, more petrol will be
left unspent in the cylinders, effectively 'cleaning up' the film of oil
that is helpful for an engine on during the critical wear stage when the
car is started.

Makes sense to me....
