Hi Mike 

I have had a similar problem in the last few weeks, except in my case I
lost the Temp. Gauge, Fuel Gauge as well.

It happened when I put the breaks on or used the indicators.


I found the problem to be a fuse (No 2, 35Amp.). The Wire in the glass
fuse had become disconected from the brass end cap, high current
throught the fuse when breaks or indicators were used caused the contact
to open until I removed the load (stopped breaking)

The fix wqas as simple as a new fuse. All now works fine
