RE: Desirable / useful mods

Here are my modifications, all of which are on my Stag and most are on
my Saloon and Estate.

I fitted a complete set of the Super-Pro bushes and they are superb.
(Supplied by Chris Witor EEC dsitributor)

Strengthen the front suspension drag struts top and bottom with 1/8th
inch plate where the bolt goes through (about 2" long to stop just
before the anti-roll bar knuckle).

Strengthen the Diff nose piece two pieces of 1/8th plate parallel to the
tube (on the sides) from the front flange to the sub-frame flanges.

These two strengthening exercises are for areas where I know people have
had fractures (embarrassing and could have been lethal). I believe these
were late Triumph modifications. Bear in mind they did rally the 2000
and 2.5 PI.

I fitted a heater system modification to my Stag which I read about in
one of the club magazines.

Fit a water take-off pipe to the rear of the Right Hand head (a
blanking plug is already there) and make up a copper tee piece into the
heater send pipe. This allows both heads to send hot water out to the
heater system. This was explained to me as the reason that Right Hand
heads are so expensive, they always ran hotter than the Left Hand head
(which had the heater take off) and thus warped when the engine
overheated.

Chris Witor Lowered and up-rated springs (I believe he supplys some of
the Stag specialists any way 01753 662905) I have no connection to him
I just use him because he knows what he's talking about regarding making
the 2000's and 2.5's handle and go.

Koni shock absorbers

And finally Real Mini-Lite wheels.

Hope I haven't bored everybody with my modifications, Oh and the heads
are now off, (oxy-acetylene gear, big hammer, hack-saw and a Snap-Off
screw driver, never mind the Snap-On man will change it).
