    Welcome to the group.

Best access to the front side markers is to remove the grille,
headlights and front marker lights, all of about 15 minutes work.  You
will then have full access to the side markers from the front, and be
able to inspect the inside of the front quarters.

    The Sill stone guards are held in place with an adhesive, and
possibly pop rivets.  Make sure that all the rivets are out, then try
prying slowly with a wide blade scraper from the bottom of the trip,
sort of like removing a label from a bottle without leaving any adhesive
on the bottle.
