Cooling

Well I suppose it had to happen, the normally very reliable used every day
Mk I broke down last night. At a Stop sign I noticed a squealing noise and
pulled over just as a load of coolant boiled over in the over fill bottle.
Due to work issues I will not be investigating but have had the car towed
into to a local garage, I am assuming the worst that the water pump died
(please no other damage !).
Could the group advise other areas I should look into ?
