Alloy Wheels

  Dear All

I know that there has been a lot of discussion recently about alloys but
if you don't mind I would like to ask a question.

I have recently aquired a set of "Original" Stag Alloys, they appear to
be in pretty good shape, except for the fact that somebody has painted
them.... an attractive shade of "battleship" gray. The Black paint
appears to be in pretty good shape still and the alloy ribs that run
around the hub and black triangles is bare but scratched and dull.

I want to strip and polish them as they look a bit drab compared to the
  rest of the gleaming chromework.

Subscribers to Classic Car Magazine should have recieved a Frost
catalogue this month. and in there on page 59 is an alloy wheel cleaning
kit. Anybody had any experience with this??

Also what is gonna be the best "UK" based stripper to remove the existing
paint without damaging or staining the alloy.

In a nice world I would just send them away to be polished by I don't
think that my poor suffering wife can take much more..

  Kind Regards

  Richard Hudson
