RE: [ihc] Great Christmas Gift for your Scout II friends..
Paint? For it to be a true model it should have come with rust and bondo.
I think I'm going to pick one up. I have a brother-in-law that loves
putting models together. He has all the special tools and even wins model
competitions on occasion. I have a true to detail 1959 VW Bug model he made
for me to match mine a long time ago. He even color matched it and lowered
the front end for me.
I wonder if I could find some 33s and a 4 inch lift for this model.

I'd had one of these on order for quite a while, and then a couple of
weeks ago it arrived. The thing that really didn't register when I
ordered it was that I was going to have to go out and buy paints to
make it look right when I assemble it. Hmm.
I don't know what I expected when I ordered it, but i guess the truth
was that I didn't think about it before ordering it.

Thats what I felt like yesterday, Glad I did'nt look at that add until
today. Why? If you have ever installed a new alt in a 1988 Honda Civic
with air, you know what a cascading series of events gets set into
motion.
Made me laugh.

I had one of those once... I seem to remember spending a whole afternoon on
a belt replacement that would take 5 minutes on another vehicle. I was too
amazed even to be mad. It's like the engineers had looked at too many Dr.
Seuss machines, or MC Escher drawings... Even though it had been a pretty
good runner, I decided to sell it soon after. I try to remember stuff like
that when I start to get frustrated with my trucks. Anyone remember the VW
guy's (Muir?) mantra "feel your tools"? I use "remember the Honda" and it
all gets better.
