RE: [ihc] Scout movie siting

i've only seen bits and pieces of Bubble Boy. seemed like a pretty
ridiculous movie. as i recall, the topless Scout II was a taxi driven by
one of a pair of ancient and feuding twins with whom the subject seeks
transportation. the other twin flies an airplane.

that movie is Stephen King's "Dreamcatchers". looked like a pretty nice
Scout II before they rolled it over. from what i could see, it was far from
totalled, just banged up a bit. sorta like our 800A. put it back on its
wheels, do a thorough check and repair any running gear that's damaged, and
away you go. the rest is just bodywork.

agreed. it pains me endlessly to see the TravelAll featured so prominently
in the end of "Bad Boys II" go into the fishpond. you *know* it sucked a
LOT of water into the intake when it hit. it's such a shame to waste these
older vehicles that way... especially when there are so many modern tinfoil
Tonka toys running around just begging for that kind of treatment.
there's a Stargate SG-1 episode in which the team somehow manages to go back
to 1969. this episode features a garishly painted B series bus driven by a
group of hippies on their way to Woodstock. i found it quite a thrill
seeing the vertically stacked headlights and egg-crate grille on TV. man,
what a photogenic front-end! +)
