hey now!  let's not be disparaging towards the light-up sneakers, okay?
both of my kids (all three if you count my lovely Bride) adore those
light-up tennies.  we wouldn't want anyone to think that all three of them
are braindead airheads easily distracted by shiny objects, now would we?

seriously, every time new shoes time rolls around, we have to peruse the
flashy lights section of the shoe stores first.  it's only if none of those
are in stock in the right size that we move to a more, shall we say
sensible, section of the store.  fortunately there are no companies
currently shipping shoes in my Bride's size, but if they did...  oh my.  you
can bet she'd have a pair.  and she'd probably try to wear them to morning
PT too, just to see if the First Sergeant notices.

i don't recall seeing anything in the uniform regulations about lights on
one's shoes...  hrmmm.
