I'd check the firewall plug on the driver's side first. If your wiring is
stock the alternator main charge wire supplies juice to everything through
the connector on its way to the ammeter. Ammeter connections would be next,
that's the distribution point. After that, connections on the back of the
fuse panel.

Could be a number of things, I'd pull the drums and look for anything
abnormal. Could be as innocuous as brake dust, or maybe a bit(self adjuster
link?) fell off, ground up and now it's either shards or lodged somewhere :(
