[ihc] Pond Scum

Here's a new one, at least for me.
My 77 SS II has a nasty case of "pond scum" in the brake fluid. I first 
discovered it a
little over a week ago while replacing the vacuum booster.  I power  
bleed the the system
and mopped out the MC. Yesterday I peeked into the MC and it looked like 
a  neglected
aquarium (again), green fuid with lots of floaters. Can algae live in 
brake fluid? what else could it
be? and how do I get rid of it?
