[ihc] RE: Flaring - Joel's tool

The 'garden variety' double flare setup has additional dies that upset the
end of the tube first(think accordian fold right at the end). The 'V' point
finishes the job by squishing the end in on itself and forming the 450
angle. It's the first part that causes concern about the clamping force of
the tool and makes the industrial($$) versions so attractive.

Subject: [ihc] Flaring

Okay, so if the common 'double-flare' is a folded over flared 'bugle' then
how do I double flare something with my tool that looks like it clamps a
pipe and
screws down a point into the end? If mine won't do it,how does a true
double flare tool work?

hmmmm
