[ihc] Scout, Travelette, Big B's, parts
Hey all,
Last night at an auction I bought a '95 GMC K2500 extended cab pickup
with the 6.5TD, which is exactly the sort of vehicle my current
budget, lifestyle, and needs dictates. I've wanted one for many
years and couldn't pass up a good deal on a very nice one. Coupled
with my Crown Vic Police Interceptor, my transportation needs are now
sewn up for a while.
Anyway, on the IH side of things, it's now time to move on. I'm not
saying I'm out of IHs forever, or anything like that, but the time
has come for them to play a much smaller role in my life. Which
doesn't mean I'll forget the hospitality of the Iowa folks when I
flew in and drove The Bus home 1500 miles, or how the '67 travelette
ran 15 miles to and from town without the button on the rotor,
because doggone it I wanted to drive it in to impress a girl, or how
much I've learned from you all and from wrenching on the 15 or so
Binders I've owned these last four years.
IHs have probably been the most formative experience of my last 5
years, which include a divorce, selling a house, career change, move,
buying a house, career change, renovating a house, and even online
dating. ;-)
Most impressive, too, has been the good humor with which you all have
put up with my manic-depressive IH lust, this must be the 17th time
I've announced I'm selling, and it wasn't so long ago I was still
buying.
But enough of the Kodak moment. I need to sell some stuff fast, so
please email me if you, or anyone you know, would be interested in
the following trucks:
1966 4x4 1200 Travelette, PS, PB, 304/T98/PTO, service body $2500?
1971 800B 196/4spd/4x4, 4/6-point cage, winch bumper, nearly
rust-free. (NEARLY...) $4000
1960 B184 big truck, pickup cab, 6 tires with only 1000 miles on
them, 345/5spd/2spd 24kGVW $3000?
1962 B182 big truck, picjup cab, 345/5spd/2spd 23.5kGVW, low miles,
not running $750?
I could go on for a long time about any of them and how special they
are, but I'll save the bandwidth for anyone interested off list.
Prices are just a starting point, extra parts are negotiable and cash
talks; I have a hauler who moved a one-ton-plus 4x4 from here to CO
for $700 or so. I know folks on the lists tend to like super
bargains, but these are terrific trucks and maybe you know somebody
else who hasn't heard about $100 scouts. ;-)
I also have a number of cool parts that will sell with or after the trucks:
NOS Scout 800 west coast mirror
extra scout 800 gas tank
2 aux gas tanks for an 800
Warn O/D and rebuilt D18 transfer case
16" steel wheels with traction tires or 15" steels with ProComp ATs for a scout
NOS IH aluminized muffler for the C-series V8s, another for a big truck
NOS IH a/c clutch
Tons of excellent B-series bezels
NOS B-series generator
beautiful big chrome IH horns
many many chrome Unity spotlights, 6" and 5" size
and more that I'll think of once I get home and do an inventory.
After a day or two here I'll post on the Bulletin and OldIHC, then to
eBay. Did I mention cash talks!? :-)
Thanks for reading and again for all the wonderful help given here
over the years.
Best,
Joel F
