[ihc] Mike Toney's parts order...and questions...



Mike, I have for you:
Roof rack.
Windshield visor (I know)

for your Q's:
Yes, carefully pull back the carpet panel on the driver's side and an
identical panel as the spare tire cover resides there.  Remove and access
fuel tank.

Footwell vents, yes.  Are they difficult, YES.  Are they usually rusty and
do you need a short offset screwdrive and have to take like a zillion steps
to get the screws out?  YES!

Cowl: There should be a panel/flap behind the heater core box that allows
access to the passenger side of the cowl.  Good.
The drivers's side usually rusts out and is open underneath and has access
there.  I've cut through there to clean them out also, it's an easier
option than anything else as the factory drains are pitifully small for the
leaves and brush that normally collect.  Front fenders off still won't
allow access to the cowl dumps/drains.  It's almost a sealed chamber to the
bottom.  I can take a pic of what the pass. side looks without a fender as
I have a TA like that now.  If you'd like me to do that, drop me an email.
Clean the drains out at the bottom, do your best to pull the vents in the
kick panels, run the hose a bunch and water gets all over inside the truck
too, but the cowl drains are clear...  Also, access to the cowl dump can be
found from the bottom hinges in the door.  Use a mechanics grabber claw and
pull out as much debris as you can.  It's a dirty job, but someone's got to
do it?
