RE: [ihc] D70's and RA15's Why?

i've only seen the one Traction Equalizer in an IH axle, and i don't
remember now if it was an RA15/RA20 or something bigger. in hindsight, it
might have been bigger. i do have those images of what they look like,
though. i'm not so sure it's really a limited slip so much as a "not as
positive locker" as the No-Spin. it's got the solid carrier with no spider
gears the way a No-Spin does, but then it's got all this other weird stuff
inside the housing and tubes. did you look at the pictures i posted the
URLs to?

here they are again:

at a guess, i'm beginning to think it was only available in larger axles,
since i can't find a listing for it anywhere in the light line, and nobody
else seems to be able to find anything on it either. so my first assessment
that it's something that was available in the RA15/RA20 may be erroneous.
that's what it looked like to me, and what my shaky memory has it as. i've
been wrong before, i will be wrong again, i may be wrong now.

this makes sense, and i've never seen a listing for the Traction Equalizer.
just the one unit installed (broken) in one axle and the two pictures from
an IH service manual that i got from Sierra International back before they
became Navistar and then whatever they are now. honestly i don't know what
you had to do to get one of these, or what the stats on them is. all i know
is that i've seen one in person, and it was *way* weird.

i totally agree.
