hang about...  a thought occurred to me.  is it the front passenger side
dipstick hole?  you said you're using a driver side dipstick, right?  since
you're using an engine that i presume originally had a dipstick at the front
passenger side, is the hole either still open or did a plug come out of it?
all of my 392s have the dipstick hole there, though like your Traveler our
Scout has the driver's side dipstick installed and the original hole
plugged.  is that what it was?
