[ihc] Michael Shaw steering wheel
Michael,
For a Scout II you *should* have both a steering wheel puller as well
and a lock ring compressor. You can do it without the lock ring compressor
(if you can get your knees to your mouth and push the ring in with your
feet (buy the darned tool at harbor freight about $9) The steering wheel
puller is a must-have. The splines are slightly tapered and even finger
tight on the mounting nut can make the splines so tight that you need the
puller. After you have these two tools, you'll find them indispensable and
people will want to borrow them. ;)

Subject: [ihc] Steering wheel removal
Oh-sorry, forgot one other question-how does one remove the steering wheel?
I
have done so before, and thought I succeded in using my gear puller, but it
doesn't fit this steering wheel right! Do I need a steering wheel puller?
Any way to get by without one?
Ignition switch on my '75 Scout II is stuck in the on position, and I need
to
remove it and get a new one-can't get it off without the steering wheel
cooperating!
Thanks!
Michael
