Tom's lifter

Tom,
Be sure to look the bottom of the lifter and the cam lobe over close.
I don't know how much valve lift you have, but the valve spring may have
been binding. Didn't this call come about after a broken rocker? If it
was binding, it might have put excessive force down on the lifter,
which the oil film on the cam lobe may not have been adequate to
deal with.

Remember that the difference in lifter height is multiplied by the rocker
ratio to get the extra compression applied to the valve springs.

I hope there is no no serious damage.

Allan W.
