Re: RMIHR

It was my pleasure to have had the opportunity to finally meet John & Wanda
and to have the opportunity to spend the day with them as well as Howard and
the McFarlings on the Alpine Tunnel Road. According to my guide the trail was
rated a 1 with the "only consideration being the steep drop offs". That was
exactly what I was 'considering' when the party of Jeeps & dune buggies were
coming downhill. Nowhere to go, but somehow we all found room to pass. Next time,
Hofs, I'll be looking for that helicopter you mentioned....

For years I've been reading the posts and using the advice of so many on this
board, that it was worth the 970+ mile trip to Salida just to meet the fine
people behind them and thank them in person. The show, the meals, and the trail
trips were all first rate. But what made this show so special was the people.
Like John said, Eldon is always interested in helping out. He happened by my
campsite, as I was contemplating the new vibration in my Scout after the prior
day's run and checked it out. Thanks, Eldon!

It was a pleasure to meet new friends and visit with old friends.I always
wish I would have had more time to talk with each person, but hey that's what
next year's for! Hope you all made it back to your respective homes safely. Look
forward to visiting again soon!

Jason
