Re: Tom's 392

Just outside Frisco, CO, we stopped for some construction. I let the
motor cool down, then shut it off for 10 minutes. I restarted it, drove
through the construction area, and right on the other side, bang, broke
one #1 pushrod, bent the other.

No biggie - I've learned to carry spares. Except after replacing the
pushrods, it still had a miss, and the vacuum gauge could be heard
bouncing off the 0-peg.

We limped 20 miles to Frisco and the Best Western.

On Friday I bought a compression tester at NAPA and, much to my surprise,
#7 had 0 compression. :(

John Comer and Mark Korsten came to my rescue with a 30' trailer and
another truck to pull my trailer with Michelle's 800 on it to the show.

On the plus side, my "show truck" that was trailered to Rendezvous won
first in Mild Modified pickups, 69-75.

We'll finish up swapping the good-used IC392 in today. We swapped one in
last night, but a nut or washer must've found it's way down the intake, so
we have to pull the intake and see what we can find today.

More of my good luck. :D
