There is an IC, which would best be called Improved Circulation, which
did improve the cooling in some areas of the block, but didn't really
increase the overall cooling ability of the engine. This can be
identified by the coolant tubes running into the block. The older
version runs into the heads just like a 345.
Since the 5 speeds were built for use in the Loadstar size trucks, they
should be more than adequate for anything you do with a 3/4 ton truck.
The Loadstar was the primary use of these transmissions and they were a
low-useage option in the pickups.
