Could well be.  I'm not sure how to tell the difference between shot-peened
pot metal and tumbled pot metal.  I do no that whatever they do, rounds off
all the sharp edges and makes machined flat surfaces like those on the top
edge where the seal is, into rounded out surfaces that won't mate or seal
the way they should.
