SteeringKnuckleQuiz

Hey, it has been awhile...
Last night, I was looking over a couple of steering joints and I
noticed several varieties. Two styles of UJ: one a true UJ with
grease nipple and the other, a block of steel sorta' functioning as a
UJ. Comments? Which is better? The true UJ looks like it cannot be
pressed out and replaced, so when it goes, the whole assembly goes.

Next, I noticed there are two styles of plunge mechanisms: a cup like
affair (seems quite cool) and a fibre/rag joint. Comments on these?

The cup plunger is made as part of the metal block UJ, so I can only
assemble a rag plunger if I want to keep the true UJ.

Gosh, I hope this dribble makes sense. If you have been there, you
know what I describe. What do you prefer? Where can I get a
replacement when I need one? Cost? Seems like I once payed $68
for one ...gosh, I hope I way overpaid cause I don't want to pay that
much next time. De-inflation, ya' know.

For all those travelling to cool Scout gatherings ...write when you
return, tell us all. Thanks! Mark
