Dane,
   Auto trannies are a pain when it comes to disengaging the transfer
case. The best way is to start the engine, and shift first into R then D
then while pulling back on the shifter lever for the transfer case shift
back from D to R and back till the transfer case comes out of 4Low. I
would then shut the engine off and pull the transfer case lever into
2HI.
