Thanks for reminding me. I meant to write about this.

I went to NAPA the other day to get the paint. They didn't have it and
couldn't order it. I was specifically looking for *engine* paint. Is
that what NAPA is supposed to have?

I went to Warehouse Tractor in Porterfield (Wisconsin) and they had
the IH red but not in engine paint. I bought a can, but if I can find
the engine paint, I would rather use it. I am going to try a couple
other NAPA's in the area.

The guy at Warehouse said that they have used this paint for years on
tractors and engines with no problems. 

Is engine paint really necessary?

Oh, I am painting the intake manifold, water pump housing, water pump
tubes, valve covers and all the misc. housings that came off with the
head removal.
