ring and pinion

Well, I just destroyed the ring and pinion gears in my rear axle.
Now I am trying to decide what to do about it.  Does anyone in the
western Washington area have any axles they would like to get rid of?
Mine is 3.08 but I would prefer 3.73 or 4.11 (comments).  of course if
I change gears I will need both front and rear.  
I could look at this as a good opportunity to get a locker but I was
recently laid off and am on a low budget.
This truck is my only transportation so I need to do something  soon.

I am considering replacing the ring and pinion myself but i've never
done it and i'm not sure I want to try.
