For what it's worth, I tow my Scout on a 1250 lb. trailer. That's 3 tons of Scout, for a total weight of slightly over 7200 lbs. with a 1990 F-150 4x4 with 32" BFGs. Definitely need trailer brakes! But everything else is ok.
