My parents are still on a party line but the people who used to be on the
party line their own private lines.  So my mom and dan still pay party line
rates but have their 'own phone line.  Our out house has been gone several
years now.  But we still have a working crank phone with lines that go to
the shop 200ft away, the shop has a crank phone also.  I wish I could sneak
them into my back pocket.
