FloMaster Mufflers

A question for some of you gurus:  A friend at work just had a complete dual
exhaust set-up installed on his new Chevy truck. When he crawled up under it
to admire it, he noticed the FloMasters were installed backwards.  He wanted
to know if it would hurt.  I know nothing of FloMasters.  So I asked him how
he knows they're backwards and he says they are marked IN and OUT.  I figure
it's bound to make a difference or they wouldn't have marked them.  He took
them back to the people who installed them and of course, they say it
doesn't make any difference.  What'd you expect them to say? Anyway, anybody
know whether it would make a difference or not?
