wheel bearing tightness??

Hey whats the general consensus on wheel bearing tightness. I tighten them
down via the hammer and punch method ( i know buy the tool. I will someday)
till they are super tight to seat them then back off then re suug till the
wheel can spin one and a half revolutions before stopping. This takes into
account the friction of the brakes and such. I used to go 80 pounds then
the same back off and resnug. If anyone knows please reconfirm my method or
critize it and tell me the right one. Please call as I will be out welding
finishing the seat mount on drivers side thats been put off since last
