Big smoke cloud and hood removal



I think I'm going to have to do some rebuilding sooner than I thought. I
went for a ride Sunday and the Scout was smoking bad on the way back. It
looks blue to me so I assume I have an oil problem. I figure I'll pull the
valve covers and see what I can see.

The weird thing is that the problem seems to come and go. Is this an
indicator of some kind?

Second question. If I'm gonna do engine work, I'd like to remove the hood.
How hard is it to replace the hood if I mark it good before I pull it off?
