Sway bars

  You mentioned in an e-mail about having a bar built.  Well, it appears
that the one I have is from a 74, and indeed, it is too wide for my '72
frame.
So, I figure one of my options is to bend the ends in to match my frame 
width, but, how can I bend it without ruining the spring properties?
I can't heat it, can I?  

Anyone have a lead on a rear sway bar for a pre-74 Pickup or Travelall?
Maybe Ken wants this one?
