What I meant was that it would probably be cheaper and easier to separate
your towing requirements from your mileage requirements.  That is, get a
travelette/wagonmaster for towing (expecting 10-12 mpg), and a scout for
economy (boy, that sounds strange!).  Instead of trying to get a
travelette/wagonmaster to do both.

As a few folks pointed out, you could put a big diesel in the tower.  Costs
more, but then again there are probably some advantages to having less than
eight vehicles to do oil changes on!
