Maybe in most cases.  But the stock 345/2.72/T-19close combo
was given a highway mileage estimate of 21 mpg by IH/EPA for the
1980 model year.

And of course, the diesels got 23.5 - 25.2 on the highway for the same year.

Here's a question:  what speed is the highway mileage calculated
at?  I'm assuming 55 mph for 1980?  And, 65 for the 90s?
