Rear disks
Well since I have the TSM and was one of the first to install it i will
give my opinion.
The rears on my 6000 pound travler with 33-9.50-15s never lock up. I think
its the weight and pedel pressure issue that makes this so.
Get them you will love the stopping power and decreased distance. I never
used a proportioning valve as mine didnt lock up. Try this getv them on and
then go find a safe place and stop quickly and see if they lock up. If they
do then get a prop. valve if not and you stomped on the pedel then dont get
one. This is as per TSM recomendation.
The master cyclinder issue is another thing. I would replace with one that
is for disk brakes as the insides are different. The rebuilts are only like
$36 bucks. If not the drum will apply more pressure and you will most
likely have a skiding problem.
There is a section on my teck tips as well as the same article on the
binder bullitin by me about the install of the disk brakes. The difference
is the one on my site has pictures to explain this stuff. Go take a look.
Its the link in my sig file with the Scout.html
