Rear disc brakes

Some old lady pulled out in front of me today.  Didn't hit anything but
smoked both rear tires.  

I'm getting interested in rear discs again.  Is there a "how too" on the
FAQ.  I remember a lot of discussion.

Anyone who has them.  Does it reduce rear wheel lockup???  Mine locks the
rears every time I have an emergency.
