727s differences and sames



George,

        The internals are identical.  The cases are different.  The 4wd will 
have a 'short' output housing with a bolt flange for a Dana 20 T/C.  The 2wd 
will have the 'long' output housing designed to somewhat shorten the rear 
driveline.  Output shaft is about 10" different inside.

        Hope it helps.  If you're rebuilding then, the internals will match up.
