Carb Rebuild

Well, got the carb back together last night. Left the pump inlet and
discharge ball valves alone. I also cleaned and reused the needle and
seat assembly. The one in the rebuilt kit was different (seat has a
hole near top, and needle is one piece design and much longer that
original). Looking at the other carb I have (which by the way was a
huge help on reassembly), it has the same type of needle and seat as the
rebuild kit, but it seems as though the float in it has almost no room
to move.

John, the "little pin type thing" on the economizer body I left alone,
the service manual calls it the power valve.

Tonight, I adjusted the float. The instructions with the kit called for
3/8" from the float to the bowl. Does this sound right? Also, it
advised to adjust the other tab (next to the bumper spring on the needle
seat) so that the tab just cleared the bumper spring after the flaot
level was adjusted. I couldn't find in the service manual where it
mentioned this.

I'll give the carb a try Saturday morning. Anyone have any hints on
adjusting the idel mixture screw? Where should I start with it at?
Just barely seated?

Thanks to everyone for all the help.
